DAY 2 (Saturday, 16th May) highlights: Clinical excellence in Glaucoma and Paediatric optometry, latest in Myopia Management & Conference Dinner

Saturday opens with a powerful clinical session dedicated to glaucoma, held in parallel with a Student and Early Career Researcher session highlighting the latest research in vision science, alongside Rapid Fire Session III (Refraction). The midday program offers opportunities to broaden your knowledge of public health and paediatric optometry. Simultaneously, Rapid Fire Session IV (Binocular Vision and Paediatrics) will dive into clinical trials, computerized vision therapy, and digital tools, while also addressing parental awareness of children’s eye care needs.

After lunch, the EAOO General Assembly Meeting will take place. A highlight of the second day, the keynote by Professor David Crabb, invites you on a journey to demystify how progressive vision loss impacts everyday tasks & challenge you to consider moving beyond clinical test results to focus on what matters most to patients. In parallel, sessions provided by our sponsors will allow you to learn about the latest technologies and products in the industry.

The afternoon offers the chance to expand your understanding of optometry across Europe by joining the ECOO Blue Book presentation. You can also join Rapid Fire Session V (Myopia), where myopia management strategies will be shared – from meta-analyses to clinical trial results and effectiveness of myopia control spectacle lenses.

We invite you to conclude the official part of the second day by joining the Special Interest Group on Myopia Management or European Diploma in Optometry. Throughout the day, we invite you to explore the poster presentations and engage with the exhibition showcased by our sponsors.

End the evening at the EAOO 2026 Conference Dinner, where we will showcase the best of Latvian hospitality, local flavors, and the vibrant heart of the EAOO optometry community.
