It’s so great that you’ll be attending EAOO 2026 – let’s connect even before the main event begins!

We’re excited to invite you to a special pre-event on May 14, 2026, ahead of EAOO 2026 in Riga.

This event is designed for early career researchers (students and postdocs) and early career professionals (within five years of starting their career). It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet peers and experts, build connections, and ease into the EAOO experience.

What can you expect?

• An interactive workshop focused on learning something new and practically valuable,

with an emphasis on developing communication skills

• A networking opportunity to connect with other people in the vision care community
• A relaxed space to engage, learn, and connect before the main event

How did this idea start?

We – Chiara (Ireland), Dagni (Estonia), Ieva (Norway), and Tatjana (Latvia) – an international team, came together with the idea of creating something we ourselves would love to attend just before the main event. We would like to get to know others in the vision care community, strengthen skills like communication through an interactive workshop with an engaging moderator, and simply spend some enjoyable time before EAOO 2026 officially begins.
