DAY 1 (Friday, 15th May) highlights: Kickstart EAOO 2026 with hands-on workshops, join special interest groups and get inspired to shape the future of optometry!

The first day launches with a focus on practical skill-building, offering a selection of workshops where you will master essential clinical competencies, ranging from in-depth case analysis to practical hands-on demonstrations.  From contact lens fitting, anterior segment evaluation in glaucoma to refraction management and eye-tracking assessments – all aimed to equip you with advanced techniques that will allow you to refine your vision testing skills and directly increase your patient’s quality of life.

After lunch, we invite you to join our Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions – a perfect opportunity to network and exchange ideas. Whether your passion lies in Evidence-Based Practice, Education, Binocular Vision, or Contact Lenses, the SIG sessions are intended to build lasting connections with colleagues who share your specific professional interests.

In the afternoon, the official conference opening session will be held (14:00), where attendees will be welcomed by the LOOA President, the EAOO President, and representative from the University of Latvia! This sets the stage for our first keynote lecture by Professor Konrad Pesudovs the world’s most cited optometrist & a global leader in ophthalmology outcomes research. This is something not to be missed as his expert work on patient-reported measures will revolutionize how we link visual performance to quality of life.
