2026 Eye Care Section Ocular Photography Contest
Showcase the beauty, complexity, and clinical significance of the eye through your lens. The Eye Care Section Ocular Photography Contest is now open for submissions, inviting eye care professionals and enthusiasts to share their most compelling ocular images.
This is your opportunity to highlight your skills in ocular photography, contribute to professional knowledge, and inspire colleagues from across Europe and beyond. Selected photographs will celebrate both the scientific value and visual artistry of eye care imaging.
Submissions are open until 12:00 PM on May 5, 2026. The winners will be officially announced during the EAOO 2026 Conference Closing ceremony.

Submission Categories:
Optometrists are invited to submit up to two entries per category:
Anterior Segment Category: Lids, Conjunctiva, Cornea, Contact Lens, Iris, Lens, Angle/Gonioscopy, digital color photo.
Posterior Segment Category: Vitreous, Optic Nerve, Retina, Color/Red-free photo, Fluorescein Angiography/ICG, Fundus Auto-fluorescence.
Grand Prize: One winner will be selected in each category. Each winner will receive a complimentary ticket to attend the EAOO 2027 Conference.
Judging Process
This year, the judging process will be carried out by the participants of EAOO 2026, Riga. Attendees will vote for the best images in each category based on the following criteria:
- Focus
- Exposure
- Field of View
- Difficulty of Capturing Image
- Absence of Distracting Elements
- Lighting
- Visual Impact (the “wow” factor)
Submission Guidelines
Account Requirement: Submissions is done through an EAOO 2026 emails google form link!
Format: Submit images in PNG, JPG, JPEG, or GIF formats. No enhancements or modifications allowed.
Submission Limit: Up to two entries per category
Privacy: Photos, captions, and case descriptions must not include any identifying information. Patient consent for the publication of images is required.
Important Notes
No Emailed Submissions: Only submissions through the official email google form link will be accepted.
Language: All submissions must be in English.
Credential Requirements: By submitting an image to the contest, you certify that you are not a student. Only optometrists or holders of equivalent credentials are eligible to be the primary designee for the prize.
Duplicate Entries: Do not re-submit entries to make corrections. Contact the conference organizer to make corrections.
Alterations: The Academy reserves the right to make minor alterations to winning submissions for clarity and aesthetics.
